New YouTube Search Filters to Discover Content

The filters are designed to make search queries more precise, helping viewers quickly find videos.

There are some new additions in the YouTube search filters.  The “Shorts” section in the video type filter, “Sort By” renamed to “Prioritize”, and the “Popularity” filter has been added. YouTube also removed some outdated features and added new ones, aiming to enhance the advanced YouTube search filters and give a more intuitive experience to users.

What are the Latest YouTube Search Filters?

YouTube search filters

Based on users feedback, YouTube added some new search filters to make the search query more relevant. Here are the new filters:

Content Type: The video type filter option now includes Shorts. For users who want to view only Shorts videos, not long videos, channels, playlists, or movies in search results. Helpful to users because some video types attract quality views.

Prioritize Tab: YouTube renamed the “Sort by” menu to “Prioritize”. The name is useful for both users and the algorithm, enabling it to recommend videos that users prioritize.

Popularity filter: Previously, the Prioritize filter had a “View Count” option, which got renamed to “Popularity.” The filter makes it easy to search for popular videos by watch time, views, and other relevant metrics.

Here is an older version of the search filter.
