YouTube TV Averts Blackout: Paramount Channels Remain Available

It all began on February 12th when YouTube TV announced that if the channels became unavailable for an extended period, they would offer an $8 credit to subscribers. The disagreement was mainly due to YouTube TV’s effort to provide the best entertainment value while avoiding extra costs and unnecessary fees.

YouTube TV assured members they were working to keep Paramount content available, offering flexible options to enjoy their favorite shows and channels.

After days of negotiations, both companies renewed their contract, ensuring that subscribers could continue watching without any disruptions.

Launched eight years ago, YouTube TV has grown into one of the largest pay-TV providers in the U.S., with over 8 million subscribers.

In a statement posted on X, YouTube TV stated, and we quote:

“We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal to continue carrying Paramount channels, including CBS, CBS Sports, Nickelodeon, and more. With this agreement, YouTube TV will continue to offer 100+ channels and add-ons, including Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, and will enable more user choice in the future. To our subscribers, we appreciate your patience while we negotiated on your behalf.”

Similarly, in a statement, when asked, the spokesperson at Paramount said, We look forward to extending our long-standing partnership and giving audiences greater access to their favorite programming.
