YouTube ventured into AI features last year in collaboration with Google DeepMind. Therefore, On Wednesday, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan unveiled new generative AI features to enhance the platform.
The new generative AI features will allow millions of creators on YouTube Shorts to generate 6-second video clips for Shorts. SynthID will watermark these videos to inform the audience that the footage is AI-generated.
As YT has already made waves with Dream Screen, Johanna Voolich, the company’s Chief Product Officer, said, ” It’s all about empowering your creativity, not replacing it.”

The new AI video creation tool, Veo, will allow creators to input prompts to generate AI images, forming the basis of a six-second video. Additionally, Mohan said that almost 92% of creators already use AI tools for content creation.
So, these next-generation AI features will not replace fresh ideas; they will only enhance human creativity and make their work faster and better. Furthermore, Mohan has tested this AI video creation tool, using an AI-generated video of a dog and sheep becoming friends.
