Make sure your channel follows all the policies and guidelines before you apply for YPP:
- You need to have a 2-step verification for your Google account.
- You must have at least 1000 subscribers with 4000 hours of the watch in the past 12 months.
- Once you are eligible, you can go ahead and sign the YPP terms and conditions.
- Create 1 AdSense account.
- Once you have signed the YPP policy, your account will be reviewed! If your account is accepted, you will be eligible to earn revenue from the ad campaigns. If not, then you can re-apply after 30 days.
Updated monetization policy
According to the new monetization policy, YouTubers who are not a part of the YouTube Partnership Policy (YPP) will not be eligible to earn revenue. YouTube has determined to initiate advertisements on limited videos and channels.
This policy, will not affect the monetization offered to the creators, who are a part of the YouTube Partnership Program (YPP). The artists who are part of YPP, need to submit tax information to Google AdSense to evaluate if their payments are subject to any withholding taxes.
This policy will affect the creators who are not a part of the YPP policy fearing that the ads will interrupt their users’ attention from their videos.
